Hey, I'm Paige. I run Paige One Collective — a boutique growth studio for wellness coaches and practitioners who are ready to stop guessing at their marketing and start building something that actually works.
A real marketing strategy for wellness coaches is not a content calendar. Ask most coaches what their strategy is and they’ll describe their posting plan instead.
Three Reels a week. One carousel. A story every day. Maybe a monthly email.
That’s a content schedule, and because it’s mistaken for a strategy, coaches who rely on it end up working hard on the wrong things. They’re consistent, they’re showing up, and they’re still not growing the way the effort should justify.
A real marketing strategy begins with three things: who you’re talking to, what you’re known for, and what you want people to do. Content, paid ads, email, and SEO are just execution. As a result, execution without those three things clear is expensive, time-consuming, and rarely compounds.
Most coaches skip this because it feels abstract. Opening Canva and making graphics is easier than sitting with the discomfort of “am I actually clear on who I’m for and what makes me different.”
However, the coaches who get traction are the ones who got uncomfortable with those questions first.
Positioning answers who you’re for, what specific problem you solve, and why you specifically, not a generic coach in your niche.
The more specific your positioning, the more powerfully your marketing works. For example, “health coach for women” is a category, while “I help high-achieving women in their 40s rebuild their energy without eliminating the foods they love” is positioning. One cuts through the noise. The other competes with thousands of accounts saying roughly the same thing.
This is the visual and tonal expression of your positioning. Colours, fonts, photography style, the way you write, the way you speak, all of it communicates something before a single word of content is read.
An inconsistent brand identity creates friction, so visitors feel something is off even if they can’t articulate what. A cohesive identity creates instant recognition and trust instead, and trust is what converts browsers into buyers. A Brand Audit is therefore the fastest way to see exactly where that inconsistency is showing up.
Content strategy means knowing what each piece of content is designed to do, not just producing it. For instance, some content builds awareness, other pieces build trust, and the rest are designed to drive action. A strategy maps all three so your monthly output covers each one in the right proportions.
A common mistake is producing almost exclusively educational content because it performs well on Reels. Educational content builds an audience of learners, but it doesn’t always build a list of buyers. Because of that, you need content that bridges the two.
Great content without a conversion system is a leaky bucket. You’re filling it constantly, but nothing is accumulating.
A conversion system is the infrastructure that captures interest and moves people toward a yes, a lead magnet, an email sequence, a booking link, a low-friction entry point like a Brand Audit or discovery call. These things don’t happen automatically, so they need to be designed, connected, and tested.
Paid ads are a multiplier, not a solution. They amplify what’s already working, so running them before your positioning, brand identity, and conversion system are solid usually wastes budget.
The right time to run ads is once you have proven organic content, a clear offer, and a system that can handle the volume. At that point, paid media becomes one of the most efficient levers available. In fact, HubSpot’s guide to marketing funnels breaks down why sequencing matters so much here.
Because each layer depends on the one before it, the sequence matters:
Coaches who shortcut this order end up backtracking, while coaches who build it in sequence create something that compounds instead of constantly needing to be fed.
None of this is technically complicated. Most of it is available in free resources, YouTube tutorials, and blog posts like this one. The challenge isn’t the information, it’s the perspective.
It’s genuinely difficult to audit your own brand with fresh eyes, or to know which problem to fix first when everything feels urgent.
That said, it’s not a criticism, it’s just the reality of being the founder. The same thing that makes you excellent at coaching your clients makes it hard to see your own marketing clearly.
If any part of this felt familiar, that’s usually a sign the foundation needs attention before anything else. Fortunately, it’s almost always fixable, and faster than most coaches expect.
Want to know exactly where your marketing foundation is solid and where it’s leaking? The Brand Audit was built for that.
